July 2021: I moved to Boston and reported to work on campus.
January 2021: I joined Boston University’s Medical Campus as an Educational Technologist and started working remotely.
December 2020: I completed my MA in Learning, Design, and Technology at Georgetown University. I was also a Graduate Associate at the Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS), where I was part of teams responsible for technology-enhanced learning and online program development. The projects featured in this ePortfolio were created through my graduate courses and previous career in international development.
My learning design philosophy
With my passion to transform information into effective learning experiences, I have honed my focus on engagement, accessibility, and play. At CNDLS, I help adapt curriculum for online courses and build edX and Canvas courses that are learner-centric and compliant to accessibility policies. I also provide research and technical support to faculty and staff as part of Georgetown’s efforts on instructional continuity as it transitioned to virtual learning in response to Covid-19.
I am fascinated by the affordances of online and multimedia technology in education and learning and nontraditional learning spaces. I believe in lifelong learning, having previously pursued a career in international development. My background in monitoring and evaluation, online communications, and knowledge management and organizational learning complements my learning design philosophy. Prior to focusing on instructional design, I worked on knowledge management and organizational learning in international development organizations. I have worked at the United Nations, Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank, where I have managed a community of practice, evaluated training programs and knowledge exchange activities, and designed learning communities for an international audience.
I always think about how to turn everyday situations into learning opportunities. In my free time, I pursue my passion in narrative and visual storytelling through writing, photography, and watching documentaries that inform my work in learning design.
